Not to be dramatic, but we think studying abroad is one of the most beneficial experiences our students can have. It opens students' eyes to what's out there and provides them with the ability to interact with people from around the world, learn about new cultures, push their comfort zones, and discover new interests.

If you're on the fence about getting your passport stamped, here are some of our best reasons to study abroad to get you out the door and into new experiences.

Studying Abroad Can:

  • Teach gratitude and appreciation
    • Once you're away from your immediate comforts for some time, you begin to appreciate the little things.
  • Allow you to get away from 'normal' life.
    • Whether you swap big city life for country living or vice versa, studying abroad gives you the opportunity to see how other people live.
  • Show you different levels and styles of education.
    • Education styles vary all over the world and being able to experience one you're not familiar with can help you improve your own learning or push you to think more critically.
  • Provide a deep dive into a new culture.
    • You get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn what it's like to live in a different culture with new norms, customs, and traditions.
  • Open your eyes to new opportunities.
    • When you're away from home and experiencing something new almost every day, you'll probably discover a few new passions or opportunities that you enjoy. For example, when your graduate with a degree from the UK, you are eligible to stay and work for up to two years!
    • Offer the best opportunity for personal growth
      • If you're looking to push yourself out of your comfort zone or have a life-defining experience, studying abroad is for you!
  • It's just fun.
    • Sometimes there's just no other word for it. It's simply f-u-n.
  • You'll learn about the world.
    • No matter where you go, you'll learn a little bit about the world as a whole.
  • Create lifelong relationships
    • With your roommates, classmates, professors, or even your local barista. They're all game for new friendships!
  • Set you up for quick employability.
    • Degrees in the UK are focused which means you'll spend time deep diving into your selected course or field with hands-on training and experiences. Once you graduate you'll be able to find a job or enter further education because of your specific training.
