UDA announces Professional Soccer Academy for North American Students in England.

August 3, 2017

The International Academic and Sports Academy  (IASA) offers  students from North America the opportunity to study, live and play year round in a professional soccer academy in England while earning their undergraduate degree  (multiple degree options and three years) or graduate degree. (multiple degree options and one year)

IASA directors have created a program that has evolved and is now reshaped to offer a total experience for students at multiple levels. It ensures top class coaches who hold both an academic undergraduate degree and the UEFA “A” licence.

Executive UDA Director, Dr. Brian Haley stated, “We at UDA have used our expertise on building what we believe will be the best professional soccer academy linked to a University. The program is shaped on what we have learned when we first developed and initiated such a project in 2010”.

Haley Added, “We have differentiated IASA Soccer from others in the following ways”

  • Every coach will need to hold a UEFA “A” coaching license to work in the academy with students - including the football director of the program

  • Every coach in IASA will need to hold an academic undergraduate degree

  • Every coach will have some level of semi or professional playing experience.

  • Multiple degree offerings completed in three years. Transferability if needed*

Haley Stated, “ What differentiates the IASA program is that we have top academic and coaching qualifications right across the board for those working with the students. That is the IASA difference and promise.”

Haley Stated further, “We have been deliberate and intentional  in making sure that the director of the football program holds an undergraduate degree in addition to the top coaching license and pro playing experience. This is important as the  person directing the program needs to be authentic and one that students can look up to.”

Haley concluded, “There is no better way to set standards for others to achieve in the classroom and on the field than having someone that holds both qualifications and and is truly authentic. This is why we are delighted that Mac (Jon David McCarthy, BSc) www.InternationalASA.com  will be directing the IASA program in England. His, as well as all the IASA staff qualifications, for running a University Soccer program are unmatched and differentiates this program from others”

* Note Transfer Students from IASA or those studying an American degree program can transfer into the US academy and complete degree requirements in the same amount of time but with the advantage of multiple degree options.
